All the gains were made by him and Moreau in Germany, Belgium and Netherlands. They had numerical superiority for that. French gains in HRE gains weren't much

What do you think about Coilation's military commanders Archduke Charles' defense of the Rhine was quite an accomplishment, and I find him more of Napoleon's Bane than Wellesley. During Waterloo, Napoleon was outnumbered. Napoleon outnumbered Charles at Aspern-Essling, and Moreau outnumbered Charles in the initial attacks on the Rhine.

Napoleon was not able to put his army together at Aspern Essling because of Austrians sending obstacles down the river which destroyed French bridges over Danube again and again, this divided the French forces in 2 parts completely unable to co-operate, but French defended fiercely but sustained huge casualties including Marshal Lannes.

How about Benningsen? The first coalition commander to put a check on Napoleon at Eylau?

That's true. In Russian Favour : Artillery In French Favour : MURAT!! That sums up everything And Davout too Yes. Davout arrived late (The battle was already on), but just in time. Ney was too late and Bernadotte, for reasons I don't know, didn't even show up

Yes. Davout arrived late (The battle was already on), but just in time. Ney was too late and Bernadotte, for reasons I don't know, didn't even show up Bernadotte's performance at Jena-Auerstedt, and Eylau was pitiful.

How about Benningsen? The first coalition commander to put a check on Napoleon at Eylau? Bennigsen made a massive cock-up at Eylau. I don't call that a victory, I call that a bloodbath.

There was a check anyway, something which hadn't been done hadn't been done before. Moving on to... Wellesely. What do you think?

Wellesely. What do you think? Certainly a very good tactician, but he has advantage of commanding most well trained, well equipped, disciplined and experienced army of the era, probably history, also backed by a very powerful navy, protecting his supply lines and giving capability of landing the army anywhere in the known world- preferably the rear of enemy, used extensively to create diversion during peninsular war which was always frustrating for enemy.

However, In Spain and Belgium, he also had not the most well-trained or loyal fighters.
