Italy was not that weak, it just have incompetent generals as Rommel said," Gentlemen, you fought like lions but you were led by donkeys" and "German troops has amazed the world and you have amazed the Germans". Rommel said that later in the war. You know those defensive camps Graziani built in Egypt? Well, O'Connor's forces strolled in barely firing a shot. O Connor flanked him and Rommel did same in 1941.

People think that Operation Barbarossa is a blunder. I don't think so. Britain was putting up a stiff resistance and there was this non cooperative Japan and a weak Italy. I think that Yugoslavia Campaign before Barbarossa was the blunder. What do you all think? Main problem was logistics, which wouldn't have been attained due to long distance of supply routes and defeating Greece was necessary to protect Germany's southern flank. That's true and they were really short of all types of supplies

O Connor flanked him and Rommel did same in 1941. in the extreme south. I have a quote from a book, but I'm too lazy to get it and I'm tired. The Italian troops were terribly trained at that point anyway. They began to buck up under the leadership of Messe. I forgot the certain special tank force's name, but Rommel said that, "They never let me down." The Italians did fight like lions, everyone fought like lions, but in more than one case, Wedendell, Kluge, Voroshilov, Vatutin, and of course Rodolfo, were donkeys.

Why you put Vatutin there, at least he won

Yugoslavian campaign was not the reason for delay, the reason was mud created by flooding of rivers in Eastern Europe. Yugoslavian campaign actually ended earlier than the the Germans expected

IMO you are right. Useless allies paved way for Hitler's downfall I wouldn't say Romania and Finland- they deny any cooperation with Germany, but memoirs of key German generals and officials indicate that Finland cooperated with Germany(two most important allies of Germany, more important than Italy or Japan) were useless
